this is one of the best examples of relevant, pop-culture driven and, most importantly, purposeful marketing i’ve seen in a long time. today nike announced the nike air mag 2011 - an almost exact replica of the infamous shoes michael j. fox wore in “back to the future II.” only 1500 pairs will be auctioned exclusively on ebay - 150 each day for 10 days - with all proceeds going to fox’s personal foundation to fight parkinson’s, the disease (in case you didn’t know) that he suffers from. it’s fucking brilliant.
